A book with more than enough information if you wanted to find out about classic and Christian architecture. The author takes us along development of architecture from ancient world, through the architecture of the Christendom, up to the times of Crusades. Discussed is the architecture of Egypt, Assyria, Persia, and Greece. As the Romans came to power, they built upon the foundation of Greek architecture. As the Roman Empire fell, architecture goes through Basilican, the Byzantine, the Romanesque, and Saracenic phases.
